The Coimbatore Corporation's dredging project is aimed at improving the capacity of the city's water bodies to store and supply water, especially during the dry season. The project involves the dredging of five major water bodies in the city, namely Valankulam, Selvampathy, Ukkadam, Singanallur, and Periyakulam. The dredging will be carried out using modern equipment, and the excavated sediments will be disposed of at designated sites.
